Yay, change can be challenging but also a good thing. I often struggle with adjusting to change but I think these changes for us with be great. The first change: We are moving. We are moving to a new apartment complex in College Station. While for some people this might be a small thing, I personally am very excited to get to move. I think there will be great opportunity to meet International students and get to know our neighbors better. We are having to downsize a little but really it will be a good thing. We have some stuff that we don’t need and eventually we will have to get rid of all of our stuff if we go overseas.
The second change: I got a new job! I am also very excited about this change, too. I was going to work at two different places with a random schedule, but this new job will allow me to have a consistent schedule. Also, I won’t have to be at work as early, which is great because I love morning time (I don’t wake up to easily but once I am awake it is good). I will be getting to home school a couple of kids and babysit them throughout the week. This is going to be great experience for the future. It seems that I will possibly home school our kids overseas. I am very thankful for this opportunity!
On a personal note, I am reading a great book I would love to recommend. It is called Brokenness, Surrender and Holiness by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. The Lord has used this book to open my heart up to be broken and humble. It has given me a great Biblical perspective of what that means, why it is so important in a believers life and how to walk it out in my own life. I am far from what I would consider to be a broken person. One of the challenging things she talks about is taking the roof off of our hearts and letting the walls come down. The roof is our pride in our relationship with the Lord and she considers the walls to be our pride in our relationships with other people. It has been a blessing to get to have a real conversation with a friend the other night where I was able to take the walls down. It was freeing to get to be honest about sin in my life currently and in my past. I haven’t had a conversation like this (with someone other than Mark) in a long time.

This week, Nancy Leigh DeMoss was a guest on Family Life Today. She talked a lot about how submission was difficult for many women because they were not surrendered to God. I have struggled with the reality because I forget that submitting to Jason is directly related to trusting God.
I got to homeschool Josiah and Jael while I was at Heart of God. It was one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. What curriculum will you be using?
