Liza went to the doctor today. It was a good appointment and we feel really good about the doctor we are using here. She weighs 11 lbs. 14 oz. and is 22.5 inches long. She is definitely a big, healthy girl! We are really thankful for that. She is already losing her hair and is growing in some new hair which is a lighter color. I can’t tell if it is blonde or maybe red or maybe a really light brown. It is funny though because she has really dark, longer hair on the back of her head and it kind of forms a mullet. She looks a lot like Mark in her facial features but she does have my nose, mouth and dimples. She is smiling at us and making happy baby noises. It makes it so fun to be her mom. She has also rolled from her stomach to her back three times and likes to kind of stand up on is. I think maybe her size enables her to do this. She is tracking things with her eyes and can recognize Mark and I. We are really enjoying being her parents! The first weeks were hard but now things seem to get easier and more fun. Our doctor told me today that “a crying baby is a breathing baby.” That is a really good way to look at her fussy times. My other comfort is that I know it will end because she always sleeps at night. She is a really good sleeper! It is hard for me to believe that she has been with us for 5 weeks. I am thankful for the five weeks, the easy and hard times, the Lord has taught me a lot and has been near through it all!
